Editorial policy

How PlayerWikipedia researches, verifies, publishes and corrects content.

Sourcing

We prioritise official sources — governing bodies, leagues, competitions, clubs and federations — and use reputable independent journalism and statistics providers to corroborate them. Every published profile lists its sources with the date they were accessed.

Verification

  • Significant claims are checked against more than one independent source where possible.
  • Where sources conflict, we publish only what can be confirmed and note the uncertainty internally until it is resolved.
  • Speculation, rumours and unconfirmed transfers are never presented as fact.

Dates

We keep four dates distinct: when an event happened, when a story was published, when its facts were last updated, and when the research was carried out. Statistics are always labelled with the date they apply to.

Drafts and publishing

New content starts as a draft. It is published only after it passes automated validation (required fields, unique identifiers, valid references and sources) and editorial review. Drafts never appear in listings, search, feeds or the sitemap.

Corrections

Send corrections to editorial@playerwikipedia.com. Substantive corrections update the page's “last updated” date.
