Cole Palmer

Born in Wythenshawe in south Manchester, Cole Palmer joined Manchester City's academy at under-8 level. He made his first-team debut in September 2020 and showed flashes of brilliance, including a header against Sevilla in the 2023 UEFA Super Cup. In September 2023, seeking regular playing time, Palmer completed a £40 million transfer to Chelsea. At Stamford Bridge, Palmer produced one of the most explosive individual debut seasons in Premier League history. Nicknamed 'Cold Palmer' for his unflappable composure, nonchalant celebration, and penalty-taking precision, he registered 22 Premier League goals and 11 assists in 2023-24, matching Chelsea's single-season record for goal involvements. He netted back-to-back Stamford Bridge hat-tricks, including a four-goal display against Everton. Palmer received the PFA Young Player of the Year and Premier League Young Player of the Season awards. At UEFA Euro 2024, Palmer made an immediate impact as a substitute for England, assisting Ollie Watkins' 90th-minute winner in the semi-final and scoring a dramatic 73rd-minute equalizer against Spain in the final in Berlin.
