Biography

Born in Funchal, Madeira, Cristiano Ronaldo began his senior career at Sporting CP before signing for Manchester United in 2003 as an 18-year-old. Under Sir Alex Ferguson, he developed into one of the world's most devastating wingers, winning three consecutive Premier League titles, the Champions League, and his first Ballon d'Or in 2008. In 2009 he moved to Real Madrid for a world-record transfer fee. Over nine seasons in the Spanish capital, Ronaldo scored 450 goals in 438 appearances to become the club's record scorer, capturing four Champions League crowns and four additional Ballon d'Or honors in 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017. After moving to Juventus in 2018, Ronaldo claimed two Serie A championships and became the first player to finish as top scorer in the English, Spanish, and Italian top flights. Following a return spell at Manchester United, he joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr in early 2023, where his arrival transformed the global profile of football in the Middle East. At international level, Ronaldo captained Portugal to historic triumphs at UEFA Euro 2016 and the inaugural 2019 UEFA Nations League, amassing more than 130 international goals across more than two decades of senior competition.
