Biography

Born in Warsaw, Robert Lewandowski rose through the Polish lower leagues before joining Lech Poznań in 2008, where he won the Ekstraklasa title and top scorer award. In 2010 he joined Jürgen Klopp's Borussia Dortmund, propelling the club to back-to-back Bundesliga crowns in 2011 and 2012 and the 2013 Champions League final, famously scoring four goals against Real Madrid in the semi-final. In 2014, Lewandowski moved to Bayern Munich, beginning one of the most prolific scoring tenures in football history. Across eight seasons in Bavaria, he won eight consecutive Bundesliga championships and scored 344 goals in 375 appearances. In 2019-20, he claimed a continental treble with Bayern, finishing as top scorer in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League, winning the 2020 and 2021 Best FIFA Men's Player awards.
